DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY

Our goal is to reach the whole world for Christ. How will we achieve such a monumental task? In short, we can’t. It is only through raising up a new generation of followers that the world will be reached. Our ministry philosophy is straightforward: Win students to Christ, Build them in their faith, Send them out to Win, Build, and Send others.
On the college campus of today we find the individuals who will shape government, business, medicine, and the arts of tomorrow. If we can reach college students today, we can reach the world tomorrow!

CAN TEAMS VISIT YOU ON SHORT TERM MISSION TRIPS?

Yes

GET TO KNOW ME

I decided to follow Jesus with my life in 2005 while a Freshman in University. It was during this time the God revealed to me the importance of making Him known to those around me, and I was exposed to the world of missions. In the fall of 2010, I moved overseas to reach one of the largest unreached nations in the world for Christ. Learning to live in a new world with a new culture and language was exciting, and it was also a challenge. When I first touched down, I knew not a single person. Slowly, I began to establish relationships in this closed country. I found that I was able to tell people about Jesus and see the Gospel change lives! Now, I am a part of a growing ministry that covers more than 15 campuses in our city. Students, churches, and other organizations join with us in making Jesus known, building up the next generation of laborers, and sending out faithful followers to make disciples of all nations.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU WISH (AMERICAN) PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MISSIONARY LIFE?

Before becoming a missionary, I was in awe of the work that these “super spiritual” people did. In Mark 5:1-20, we read a story of Jesus healing a demon possessed man. In that same instance, Jesus tells the man to return home to share what the Lord had done in his life. For us, it is important for us to realize that knowing Jesus is all that is needed to share what God has done for us. I don’t consider myself one of those “super spiritual” missionaries I imagined these others to be. I’m just a faithful follower of Jesus willing to share His testimonies of redemption in my life.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN?

I often sit in coffee shops with friends visiting about current events and exciting things happening around town. Living in a bustling international city, I also have the opportunity to eat authentic foods from all over world! One of my favorite hobbies, however, is to visit the gym several times a week.

BESIDES THROUGH BOOTS ON THE GROUND INTERNATIONAL, HOW CAN SOMEONE CONTACT YOU AND/OR KEEP UP WITH YOUR MINISTRY?

I do send out monthly ministry updates, however, for the safety and longevity of my ministry and those that I work with, it would be best to first contact Boots on the Ground International in order to reach me.
